I have to ask...

When might you guys open?

River is low, low snowpack levels up north, favorable temp and precipitation conditions should keep the river level low? Knock on wood, but maybe Spring has sprung?

Also, is there a date you must "wait" for to open, per permits, agreements, etc?

My guess is probably not til mid April atleast, like usual. Yeah the temps are warming up and the snow levels are low, but the grounds still frozen and I believe Tony's still down south lol

have to admit the thought has entered my mind as well... in previous years the track has opened early before any flooding on nice weekends. I'm sure if the possibility is there Tony & the crew will make it happen

The CT river is very low and this weekend's rain isn't going to get into NH, VT and northern MA. I still think the river will remain below flood stage this Spring for the first time in a while. This could mean a VERY early opening for Tony and a non-muddy March, April and May!

Here's the river level internet link.

I don't think the track floods until 15-16 feet. We're in GREAT shape right now and the warm weather has reduced the minimal norhtern snowpack immensely. IMO, if we don't flood during this upcoming week, we won't flood this Spring as the snow up North will be GONE!

Still more than 4ft from flooding, even right now.

It's the excessive rain that's the problem, now, but I have a feeling it being 60+deg and sunny Tuesday through Saturday might help with that!

actually when it warms up all of a sudden its worse because that makes the snow melt faster and makes the flooding worse. The good news is maybe it will flood now instead of next month. Only time will tell!

I was up there one day last season when they first opened and the river came up about three feet in one afternoon, we barely got out with our small rig. We had to take the back way out as the usual acess road was too flooded. Just sayin'

crested at 13.87 feet - you're right it doesn't flood until 15-16 feet bot the road is impassable at 14 or so unless you drive gravedigger
